There are many good reasons to choose a community bank for your financial needs. Primarily, we focus our attention on the needs of local residents, local businesses, and local farmers. Conversely, many of the nation's mega banks are structured to place a priority on serving large, national corporations and often miss the mark in providing the personalized, customer service that our customers have grown to expect.
Unlike the larger banks that may take deposits in one state and lend in others, community banks like Farmers and Merchants Bank reinvest your deposits back into the community in which we serve, by extending loans in the neighborhoods where our depositors live and work thus helping to keep our local communities vibrant and growing. Our community bank officers are accessible to our customers, right here in this community. If you have a banking issue, and would like to speak directly with our bank President, he is a phone call, or email away. Additionally, you will find our staff deeply involved in local community events, business organizations, sports teams and much more. Because we are also a small business, we understand the needs of small business owners. Just give us a call to learn more, or stop by one of our local branches to speak with us. We are here to assist with straightforward deposit and financing solutions for our valued bank customers.
From the beginning, Farmers and Merchants Bank has remained locally owned, operated and headquartered in Upperco, MD. A public banking institution founded in 1919, our independence has allowed us to provide customers with a team of local bank professionals that care deeply about our customers and their personal and business success. We currently operate seven traditional branches to serve our local community - Upperco, Hampstead, Greenmount, Reisterstown, Owings Mills, Westminster, and Eldersburg.
