Internet/Mobile Conversion - June 2020


 

 Farmers & Merchants Bank's New Internet/Mobile Banking application

 In June 2020, Farmers and Merchants Bank's will be launching and activating our new NCR Internet/Mobile Banking application for consumer and business users of these electronic banking services, including Bill Payment, Mobile-Remote Deposit Capture, e-Statements, Cash Management - Payroll/ACH if applicable, Deluxe Check re-orders, Quicken/QuickBooks interface, along with several service enhancements including External Transfers to other bank institutions and account Alerts & Notifications.    

 Conversion Date/Time - Anticipated Outage; "Live" Activation of Services

 Farmers and Merchants Bank is providing notice of a planned conversion and scheduled interruption of Internet/Mobile Banking services, including Bill Payment, e-Statements and Intuit Quicken and QuickBooks applications with our selected vendor, beginning on the weekend of Friday, June 26, 2020 at approximately 3:00PM EST through Monday, June 29, 2020 at 9:00AM EST when “Live” Activation of the new NCR Internet & Mobile Banking services will be available for your secure login and use.  Please refer to the bank’s website, www.fmb1919.bank, under the Home Page – About Us Tab – Internet/Mobile Banking Conversion – June 2020, for guidance, updates, and instructions to assist users.

 The Internet/Mobile Banking conversion of services is scheduled for "Live Activation" on Monday, June 29, 2020 at approximately 9:00AM EST, for all Farmers and Merchants Bank's consumer and business users.   The conversion of files will begin at the close of business on Friday, June 26, 2020, which will suspend active internet and mobile banking services for the duration of the weekend and conversion process.   All scheduled bill payment and scheduled transfer transactions occurring during this period of time will be honored and posted to their associated accounts.  Quicken and QuickBooks application users can view specific application procedural guides [see below] on this web page for the various versions.

 User - Support / Guidance

      Retail (Consumer)

 For Consumers, your current Internet and Mobile login name will be transitioned in the conversion of each application.  A letter of explanation for your temporary password creation and the future multi-factor authentication of generated six (6) digit codes was mailed to all retail internet and mobile banking users on Monday, June 22, 2020. 

In this conversion project, your User Login Name is being transition to the new Online Banking service through the bank’s website, www.fmb1919.bank Home Page and secure login portal.   This action applies to either Internet and/or Mobile Banking login for your initial or first login occurrence to these applications, after June 29, 2020.

For the entry of your temporary password, you will need to login for your first occurrence to the new Online Banking application following a temporary password routine that our bank has adopted for this purpose.  The temporary password will be the last four (4) digits of your social security number or TAX ID, followed by the letters “FMB” in Upper Case justification.  The example below is for test user, John Test, is a sample that can be easily followed to assist:

Customer Name: John Test

Current Internet/Mobile Banking Login Name: jtest

Social Security Number: 123-45-6789

 

1st Login to New Online Banking              Login Name: jtest

                                                                        Temporary Password: 6789FMB

                 Once your login ID and temporary password is accepted for access into the Internet or Mobile application, you will be prompted to accept the “Disclaimer” terms & conditions of service, and establish a permanent password that can be executed thru the “Settings” Tab located in the upper right of your Online Banking profile and account landing page.  Once you have completed establishing your permanent password, you will be able to access either Internet Banking through your PC or Mobile Banking thru the app, fmb1919, on your Apple iPhone, iPad Tablet or Android device.  Passwords in these applications are not required to be changed and are supported with secure multi-factor authentication of one (1) time generated, six (6) digit codes.  At each login occurrence, users are prompted to receive their access code by email to a designated email address in your online profile, by text to your cellular device in your online profile, or by automated call back to your cell number in your online profile. 

      Your Account Landing Page will feature your associated bank account listing, the ability to retrieve transactional history, perform account-to-account transfers, execute bill payments (if service is approved), securely deposit checks (if mobile service is approved to enable remote capture), as well as other service enhancements to streamline your banking efficiencies.

      Business (Commercial)

 

Internet Banking

For Business Users, you will be receiving two (2) email notifications on Monday, June 29, 2020 at approximately 9:00AM (EST) to the Primary Business User for your organization.  One (1) mail will provide an embedded, secure link with your unique User name for Access into the Business Banking application.  The second email, will provide an embedded, secure email link with your unique Password to access the Business Banking application.   Please Note: The Business Banking system will prompt you to change your password on the initial login.    On the Internet Banking Account Profile Page, Please refer to the Settings Option in the upper right, to manage your user profile to update your desired User Name. 

Passwords in these applications are not required to be changed and are supported with secure multi-factor authentication of one (1) time generated, six (6) digit codes.  At each login occurrence, users are prompted to receive their access code by email to a designated email address in your online profile, by text to your cellular device in your online profile, or by automated call back to your cell number in your online profile. 

NOTE: Primary Business Users will be required to re-establish and setup all prior business users for their organization, as the conversion could not account for all business users, just the Primary User designation.

 

Mobile Banking

Business Mobile Users with Apple iPhone and iPad devices and Android devices have been delivered and are in place for activation/login, at this time.  The Apple Developer upgrade issue previously communicated for June 30, 2020 has been resolved for Farmers and Merchants Bank's Business Users.

Conversion Weekend - DownTime

For the actual systems and application conversion, the timeline of associated outages is being communicated at this time.

Friday, June 26, 2020 – At approximately 3:00PM EST, all Internet/Mobile Banking services and applications will be down and out of operation to facilitate the conversion weekend file & service transition, through Monday, June 29, 2020 when all services will be activated at approximately 9:00AM EST and secure login access will be restored for all consumer and business users.

Business Banking Users – The primary business user for each organization will receive email correspondence as described above for access into the new application of Internet Banking.   Primary Users will be responsible for adding additional Users for their business organization, Setting appropriate User Access levels, and approving their User Entitlements so that corresponding emails can be issued to each, for their future access designations to the applications of Internet/Mobile Banking.

Approved Cash Management - Business Users 

Approved Business Banking Users for Cash Management Services, including ACH Origination, Payroll, and Wire Transfers – All of your existing payment templates have been created, duplicated, and validated for conversion to assist in streamlined use after conversion of services on Monday, June 29, 2020.  Please review each template for accuracy and communicate any concerns to clientservices@fmb1919.bank if necessary.  Wire Transfer templates are available, but will need to be established for your first wire transfer request and any future wire transfer transactional requests in the NCR application.

1.     Backup your data file. For instructions to back up your data file, choose Help menu > Search. Search for Backing Up Your Data and follow the instructions.

2.     Download the latest Quicken Update. For instructions to download an update, choose Help menu > Search. Search for Update Software and follow the instructions.

Task 2: Optional task- Complete a final download before 06/28/2020

1.     Download your Quicken Web Connect file from https://www.fmb1919.bank/

2.     Click File > File Import > Web Connect File. Locate and select the Web Connect file to import.

3.     Repeat this step for each account (such as checking, savings, credit cards, and brokerage) that you use for online banking or investing.

4.     If new transactions were received from your connection, accept all new transactions into the appropriate registers.

NOTE:        If you need assistance matching transactions, choose Help menu > Quicken Help. Search for Matching Transactions and follow the instructions.

Task 3: Disconnect Accounts in Quicken on or after 06/28/2020

1.     Choose Tools menu > Account List.

2.     Click the Edit button of the account you want to deactivate.

3.     In the Account Details dialog, click on the Online Services tab.

4.     Click Deactivate. Follow the prompts to confirm the deactivation.

5.     Click on the General tab.

6.     Remove the financial institution name and account number. Click OK to close the window.

7.     Repeat steps for each account to be disconnected.

Task 4: Reconnect Accounts to Farmers & Merchants Bank-Upperco on or after 06/29/2020

1.     Download your Quicken Web Connect file from https://www.fmb1919.bank/

NOTE:        Take note of the date you last had a successful connection in your Quicken account. If you have overlapping dates in the Web Connect download, you may end up with duplicate transactions.

2.     Click File > File Import > Web Connect File. Locate and select the Web Connect file to import.

3.     Import Downloaded Transactions window opens: Select Link to an existing account and choose the matching account in the drop-down menu. Associate the imported transactions to the correct account listed in Quicken.

4.     Do NOT select Create a new account unless you intend to add a new account to Quicken. If you are presented with accounts you do not want to track in this data file, select IgnoreDon’t Download into Quicken or click the Cancel button.

5.     Repeat steps for each account to be reconnected.

Task 2: Optional task- Complete a final download before 06/28/2020

1.     Choose Tools menu > One Step Update.

2.     Depending on how you manage financial institution passwords, you may be prompted to enter your Vault password at this time or to enter individual passwords in the One Step Update dialog.

3.     In the One Step Update Settings dialog, make sure all items are checked and click Update Now.

4.     If new transactions were received from your connection, accept all new transactions into the appropriate registers.

NOTE:                If you need assistance matching transactions, choose Help menu > Quicken Help. Search for Matching Transactions and follow the instructions.

Task 3: Disconnect Accounts in Quicken on or after 06/28/2020

1.     Choose Tools menu > Account List.

2.     Click the Edit button of the account you want to deactivate.

3.     In the Account Details dialog, click on the Online Services tab.

4.     Click Deactivate. Follow the prompts to confirm the deactivation.

5.     Click on the General tab.

6.     Remove the financial institution name and account number. Click OK to close the window.

7.     Repeat steps for each account to be disconnected.

Task 4: Reconnect Accounts to Farmers and Merchants Bank-Upperco on or after 07/07/2020

1.     Choose Tools menu > Account List.

2.     Click the Edit button of the account you want to activate.

3.     In the Account Details dialog, click the Online Services tab.

4.     Click Set up Now.

5.     Use Advanced Setup to activate your account.

6.     Enter Farmers and Merchants Bank-Upperco in the search field, select the name in the list and click Next.

7.     If presented with the Select Connection Method screen, select Express Web Connect.

8.     Enter your User ID and Password. Click Connect.

NOTE:                You may be presented with a security question from your Financial Institutions prior to receiving your accounts.

9.     Ensure you associate the account to the appropriate account already listed in Quicken. You will want to select Link to an existing account and select the matching accounts in the drop-down menu.

IMPORTANT:  Do NOT select Add to Quicken unless you intend to add a new account to Quicken. If you are presented with accounts you do not want to track in this data file, select IgnoreDon’t Download into Quicken.

10.  After all accounts have been matched, click Next. You will receive confirmation that your accounts have been added.

11.  Click Done or Finish.

3.     Select Set up transaction download.

4.     Enter Farmers & Merchants Bank-Upperco in the Search field, select the name in the Results list and click Continue

5.     Log in to https://www/fmb1919.bank/. Download a file of your transactions to your computer.

NOTE:                Take note of the date you last had a successful connection. If you have overlapping dates in the web-connect process, you may end up with duplicate transactions.

6.     Drag and drop the downloaded file into the box Drop download file.

NOTE:                Select “Web Connect” for the “Connection Type” if prompted.

7.     In the “Accounts Found” screen, ensure you associate each new account to the appropriate account already listed in Quicken. Under the Action column, select “Link” to pick your existing account.

IMPORTANT:  Do NOT select “ADD” under the action column unless you intend to add a new account to Quicken.

8.     Click Finish.

9.     Repeat steps for each account to be connected.

2.     Choose Accounts menu > Settings.

3.     Select Set up transaction download.

4.     Enter Farmers & Merchants Bank-Upperco in the Search field, select the name in the Results list and click Continue

5.     Enter your User Id and Password and click Continue.

6.     If the bank requires extra information, enter it to continue.

NOTE:        Select “Express Web Connect” or “Quicken Connect” for the “Connection Type” if prompted.

7.     In the “Accounts Found” screen, ensure you associate each new account to the appropriate account already listed in Quicken. Under the Action column, select “Link” to pick your existing account.

IMPORTANT:      Do NOT select “ADD” under the action column.

8.     Select Finish.

Task 1: Conversion Preparation

1.     Backup your data file. For instructions to back up your data file, choose Help menu > QuickBooks Help. Search for Back Up and follow the instructions.

2.     Download the latest QuickBooks Update. For instructions to download an update, choose Help menu > QuickBooks Help. Search for Update QuickBooks, then select Update QuickBooks and follow the instructions.

NOTE:        If multiple computers do not use the same QuickBooks data file, skip step 3. QuickBooks activities such as Online Banking cannot be performed in multi-user mode because of the way the activities interact with a company data file.

3.     Switch to single user mode. For instructions to switch to single user mode, choose Help menu > QuickBooks Help. Search for Switch to Single User Mode and follow the instructions.

NOTE:        If you are not using Classic Mode (Register Mode), enable it for the conversion. You can change it back after the conversion is complete.

4.     Enable Classic Mode (Register Mode).

5.     For instructions to enable Classic Mode (Register Mode), choose Help menu > QuickBooks Help. Search for Banking Feed Modes, select Bank Feeds Modes overview, scroll down, and follow the instructions.

Task 2: Optional task- Complete a final download before 06/28/2020

1.     Log in to https://www.fmb1919.bank and download your QuickBooks Web Connect file.

2.     Click File > Utilities > Import > Web Connect Files.

3.     Link your bank account with the existing QuickBooks account and click Continue.

4.     Repeat steps for each account.

Task 3: Match Downloaded Transactions

If new transactions were received from your connection, accept all new transactions into the appropriate registers.

If you need assistance matching transactions, choose Help menu > QuickBooks Help. Search for Matching Transactions and follow the instructions.

NOTE:        All transactions must be matched or added to the register prior to disconnecting your accounts.

Task 4: Disconnect Accounts in QuickBooks on or after 06/28/2020

1.     Choose the Lists menu > Chart of Accounts.

2.     Select the account you want to deactivate.

3.     Click Edit menu > Edit Account.

4.     Click on the Bank Feed Settings tab in the Edit Account window. 

5.     Select Deactivate All Online Services and click Save & Close.

6.     Click OK for any dialog boxes that may appear with the deactivation.

7.     Repeat steps for each account to be disconnected.

 

Task 5: Reconnect Accounts to Farmers & Merchants Bank-Upperco on or after 06/29/2020

1.     Log in to https://www.fmb1919.bank/ and download your QuickBooks Web Connect file.

2.     Click File > Utilities > Import > Web Connect Files.

NOTE:        Take note of the date you last had a successful connection. If you have overlapping dates in the web-connect process, you may end up with duplicate transactions.

3.     If prompted for connectivity type, select Web Connect.

4.     Click the Import new transactions now radio button, then click OK.

NOTE:        If you previously removed the check from the “Always give me the option of saving to a file...” option, then this dialog will not display.

5.     In the Select Bank Account dialog, click Use an existing QuickBooks account.

6.     In the corresponding drop-down list, select your QuickBooks account, and click Continue.

7.     Confirm the prompt by clicking OK.

8.     Repeat steps for each account to be reconnected.

IMPORTANT:  Verify that all transactions downloaded successfully into your account registers.

Task 6: Re-enable Express Mode (if necessary)

NOTE:        If you prefer Classic Mode (Register Mode), you are finished with your conversion. If you use Express Mode for online banking, you may now re-enable the mode.


For instructions to enable Express Mode, choose Help > QuickBooks Help. Search for Banking Feed Modes, then select Bank Feed Modes overview, and follow the instructions.

Web Connect

Task 2: Optional task- Complete a final download before 06/28/2020

1.     Log in to https://www.fmb1919.bank/ and download your QuickBooks Web Connect File.

2.     Click File > Import > From Web Connect.

3.     Link your bank account with the existing QuickBooks account and click Continue.

4.     Repeat steps for each account.

Task 3: Match Downloaded Transactions

If new transactions were received from your connection, accept all new transactions into the appropriate registers.

If you need assistance matching transactions, choose the Help menu and use the Search bar available at the top. Search for Updating Your Register, select the article with that name and follow the instructions.  

NOTE:        All transactions must be matched or added to the register prior disconnecting your accounts.

Task 4: Disconnect Accounts in QuickBooks on or after 06/28/2020

1.     Choose Lists menu > Chart of Accounts.

2.     Select the account you want to deactivate.

3.     Choose Edit menu > Edit Account.

4.     In the Edit Account window, click the Online Settings button.

5.     In the Online Account Information window, choose Not Enabled from the Download Transaction list and click Save.

6.     Click OK for any dialog boxes that may appear with the deactivation.

7.     Repeat steps for each account to be disconnected.

Task 5: Reconnect Accounts to Farmers & Merchants Bank-Upperco on or after 06/29/2020

1.     Log in to https://www.fmb1919.bank/ and download your QuickBooks Web Connect File.

NOTE:        Take note of the date you last had a successful connection. If you have overlapping dates in the web-connect process, you may end up with duplicate transactions.

2.     Click File > Import > From Web Connect.

3.     If prompted for connectivity type, select Web Connect.

4.     The Account Association window displays during setup. For each account you wish to download into QuickBooks, click Select an Account to choose the appropriate existing account register.

IMPORTANT:        Do NOT select “New” under the action column.

5.     Click Continue.

6.     Click OK to any informational prompts.

7.     Add or match all downloaded transactions in the Downloaded Transactions window.

8.     Repeat steps for each account to be reconnected.

Small Business / Freelancer / Advanced

It is important that you perform the following instructions exactly as described and in the order presented. This conversion should take 15–30 minutes.

Conversion – Information only
QuickBooks Online data is stored on Intuit servers in the cloud. Since we update your records with every change, we cannot restore your file to a previous point in time.

QuickBooks Online automatically updates your selected version so you are always on the latest release.

IMPORTANT:           QuickBooks Online connectivity services may be interrupted up to 5 business days after the conversion is complete.

Task 1: Optional task - Complete a final download before 06/28/2020

NOTE:        Please skip to Page 3 if you Manually Import Transactions.

1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online
2. Click Banking.
3. In the top-right area, click Update.
4. After your download finishes, click the For Review tab to confirm items downloaded.

Task 2: Match Downloaded Transactions

1. Accept all new transactions on the Banking page. Simply check off all the New/Matched transactions and click Batch Action to "Accept Selected". 

2. Assistance on matching transactions is available in the Help menu > Search for Matching Transactions and follow the instructions in the appropriate article.

Task 3: Deactivate Accounts in QuickBooks Online on or after 06/28/2020

1. Select Banking on the left column.
2. Click on the account you would like to disconnect, then click the Pencil Icon.
3. Click on Edit Account Info.
4. Check the box next to Disconnect this account on save.
5. Click Save and Close.
6. Repeat steps 2-6 to deactivate additional accounts.

Task 4: Reconnect Accounts at Farmers & Merchants Bank - Upperco on or after 07/07/2020

1. In the upper-right area, click Add Account
2. Enter Farmers & Merchants Bank - Upperco
3. Click Farmers & Merchants Bank - Upperco in the search results below.
4. Type your login credentials. Click Continue.
5. Provide any additional information requested, to proceed.
6. Ensure you associate the account for Farmers & Merchants Bank - Upperco to the appropriate account already listed under Which accounts do you want to connect? Select the matching accounts in the drop-down menu.

IMPORTANT:       Do NOT select +Add new.  If you are presented with accounts you do not want to track in this data file, Uncheck the box next to the Account name.

7. After all accounts have been matched, click Connect.
8. When the download is finished, you will return to the Banking page.

Task 5: Excluding Duplicate Transactions

1. Choose Banking.
2. In the For Review section, click the checkboxes for the transactions you want to exclude.
3. Click Batch Actions > Exclude Selected.

NOTE:          If you accidentally exclude a transaction, you can include it again.

Task 6: Undo Excluded Transactions

1. Choose Banking.
2. Click the Excluded tab.
3. Click the checkboxes for the transactions you want to include.
4. Click Batch Actions > Undo.
5. Transactions will appear again in the New Transactions tab for you to work with.


Additional Instructions: Need to Manually Import Transactions?

1. Log in to Farmers & Merchants Bank-Upperco.
2. Download one of the following Web Connect file types.

      a.    .qbo (QuickBooks)
      b.    .qfx (Quicken)

3. In QuickBooks Online, choose Banking.
4. In the upper-right corner, click File Upload.
5. Click Browse and select the Web Connect file from your computer. Click Next.
6. Select the appropriate account from the drop-down menu. Click Next.
7. When the import is completed, click Let’s go!
8. After your download finishes, click the For Review tab to see what was downloaded.
